Community Leadership Programs
Purpose
The three-day introduction to community leadership program has been designed to build a shared understanding of why we should work together, how we can work together more effectively and to build relationships between participants that enable ongoing support and collaborative learning and action for growing regional prosperity and resilience.
This program is built on the belief that everyone can and does lead, and that when we each improve and contribute just that little bit more leadership we will significantly improve our collective results.

Our programs explore critical elements of effective leadership. They are vibrant and active, being based on adult learning principles, to engage the existing knowledge and skills of participants. Participants may arrive as individuals, but will depart with a greater sense of 'community', with improved ability to collaborate based on greater sharing of knowledge and practices for growing their region's prosperity and resilience.
Colour Spectrum
ColourSpectrums™ is a tool for recognising and understanding individual difference. It is useful for building teamwork, improving communication and collaboration, managing conflict, building resilience, managing change, coaching, engaging stakeholders, improving leadership and many more applications. It is simple to use, easy to remember and creates a shared language for lasting impact. Values Values are the things we care about. Our values determine what we believe. We will identify and reflect on what shapes our values and how values affect our decisions and actions. Leadership In a world of rapid change, old views of leadership may not be as useful as they were in more stable situations. We will explore different leadership styles, and when and how to use them, and what might be the most valuable leadership skills and practices for the 21st century. Understanding Change As leaders we work in change environments. We will explore approaches to working with others to successfully navigate through change, whether it is change we have chosen, or change that has chosen us. Communication and Deep Listening When communication is practised well it is inspiring, engaging and connects people to people and people to new ideas. This includes the ability to seek clarity through deeply listening, listening to feedback and alternative viewpoints and providing feedback. Good communication creates resilient relationships and the capacity for creative conflict. Teamwork To create high performance teams people need leadership and follow-ship. We explore key factors and practices to focus the energy of motivated individuals in working collaboratively to create extraordinary results. Time Management and Goal Setting The bigger our dreams and aspirations the more precious time becomes. How do we lead ourselves to make the best of this finite resource? Designing for wiser Action This project planning tool is a defined process that engages the support, thinking and creativity of others to clarify a project idea and design action to bring it to reality. It starts with the need and purpose and then builds the action steps. If you have a project idea you are passionate about, bring it along to be tested, improved and turned into action through the support of new collaborators. |
